We’re a no-frills budget hotel in central London – please check out our website & pictures before you decide to book – so you know what to expect when coming to stay with us.

Please read before booking

Please note that we offer clean & comfortable but basic (no-frills) accommodation – our bedrooms click here are generally quite small, there are no tea & coffee facilities in rooms, most rooms do not have a TV, and the prices do not include breakfast. Breakfast can be bought from a number of local cafes within walking distance, just ask at reception which are our current favourites.

Most of our bedrooms are with shared bathroom facilities, but we do also have en-suite rooms with private shower, toilet and TV – please ask when booking.

We have rooms on five levels; from the lower ground floor to the third floor. As our building is over 200 years old, it is full of history click here, character and quirks – the hot water can take time to come out of our old pipes, the floors & walls lean, it has long corridors and some steep staircases, and we do not have a lift. If you have mobility issues, heavy/large luggage or any other special needs please let us know when you make a reservation. Any questions on accessibility should be answered here, but get in touch if you have any others.

We have many (recently renovated) shared bathrooms throughout the hotel; some are in the corridor, but most are situated on the landings between floors. This works out as about one bathroom shared between three bedrooms. We consider cleanliness to be of the highest importance and our housekeeping staff are often praised for their thorough work. We clean all of our shared bathroom facilities twice a day to ensure that sharing these facilities is not an issue.

Families are very welcome – check out our blog posts click here on things to do with the whole family. If you are bringing a young child under 3 you can ask for a cot provided free of charge (please do so in advance) or they can stay in your bed. Children older than 3 will need their own beds.

Not Allowed

No smoking anywhere inside the hotel, including toilets (sorry). It is illegal in the UK to smoke in a hotel. Anyone flouting this ban (even by smoking out the window) will be asked to leave.

No eScooters (or electric bikes) are allowed anywhere on the premises (sorry). This is due to the possibility of exploding batteries!

No cooking is allowed in any room (even if you think it won’t cause a smell (sorry). Any cooking device that looks like it’s being used will be confiscated until the end of your stay.

Reservations

To make a reservation simply click here and fill in your information to get a list of available rooms, however if you can’t find the right room on our website or prefer to talk to one of our friendly receptionists please call +442078379140 or email us click here with your request.

We do not require any payment in advance but we do make a pre-authorisation on your card. This process temporarily suspends the amount of the first night’s charges on your card and then it is made available again, usually after a few days (depending on your bank). This enables us to check if you have enough credit to pay for the first night’s accommodation. The pre-authorisation process can appear on your statement as a debit, but please be assured that it is not a payment.

Alternatively, you can pay the first night’s charges into our bank account. We can send you an email with our bank details on request. Please be aware that bank transfers usually incur bank charges.

Group Bookings

We define a group as 5 or more rooms, or 15 or more people. To make a group reservation we require the first night’s charges to be paid into our bank account to guarantee the rooms, with the balance to be paid one month before the arrival date.

Policies and payment

Cancellation policy: We require between 24-48 hours to change or cancel a confirmed reservation (depending on who you book with) – you can do this by telephone or email. In the event of a late cancellation or a no-show we will charge your card for the first night’s accommodation.
We accept cash and all major credit cards (but not American Express or Diners).

Check-in/Check-out times

Check-in time is from 14:00, we do not offer early check-ins, however if the room is ready you can move straight in. If you do arrive earlier you can leave your luggage with us until the room is ready, or come back later in the day. Our reception is open 24 hours.

Check-out time is 11:00, and unfortunately we currently do not offer late check-out.
